Written by Trisha Von Thun
All that’s left are memories
of picking flowers and climbing trees
Where has the time gone?
And when I think of days gone by
Childhood days beneath blue sky
I wonder why I’ve changed?
When I was small days lingered past
there was no telling how long the fun would last
Now where is the time to get things done?
Life was a stage on which I played
I acted every part until the lights did fade
Who am I now?
My imagination ran wild and free
through childhood innocence I long to see
Where has all the trust gone?
Away from the world I sit alone
In the stillness of nature on a grassy throne
A child lingers deep in me….
…I can see again.
Written in my favorite childhood spot by the creek before starting my first year of high school.
